Furthermore, the company is investing in digitizing customs-related processes for its customers, in an industry that is expected to face a substantial increase in demand given the upcoming Brexit. 

Job profile: Director M&A and Corporate Development

Customs support group is the leading player in a very fragmented industry. The goal of the management and the shareholder is to build on this strong profile and grow in existing and new markets – not only organically but also through significant M&A.  

M&A will be fast-paced with many smaller targets (up to 1m EUR EBITDA) and a number of larger ones (3m-10m EUR EBITDA) to be acquired. 

Hence, Customs Support Group is hiring a Director M&A and Corporate Development. The incumbent will work closely with the Group’s leadership to shape the structure of the Group by developing and executing the overall M&A strategy, spanning topics in sourcing, execution, integration management, as well as developing & strengthening the overall M&A function. 

Specific responsibilities 

  • Overall responsibility for Customs Support's M&A activities  

  • Improve and build up M&A transaction capabilities of Customs Support 

  • Identify, source, evaluate and unlock investment opportunities for Customs Support across Europe

  • Together with boutique advisory firms, the candidate is responsible for filling the deal pipeline and ensuring the successful acquisition of relevant targets 

  • Evaluation and support of capex projects including greenfield expansion  

  • Identify, structure, and negotiate other potential strategic partnership agreements (e.g. JVs with logistic service provider, cooperation agreements) 

  • Management of all aspects of transactions including the coordination of all work streams with internal and external stakeholders 

  • Conduct thorough business and financial analysis as well as proper documentation

  • Coordinate due diligence exercises

  • Lead contract negotiations in close cooperation with different departments/advisors (legal, compliance, tax…)

  • Develop detailed strategic recommendations for senior leadership and other stakeholders

  • Support integration processes 

 

Specific requirements 

  • Several years of hands-on M&A experience in a corporate environment, consultancy, private equity, transaction services or investment banking 

  • Excellent university degree in business administration, preferably in the fields finance or economics 

  • Quick comprehension, strong analytical understanding of numbers as well as the ability to work independently and under time pressure

  • Experience in PMO and integration work as well as managing projects with different stakeholders are a strong plus

  • Location is not key but high willingness to travel to Rotterdam HQ and across Europe required
