The transaction marks another important step in our vision to be the leading customs partner for clients across Europe.

Goods classification, together with the country of origin and customs value, is used by the customs authority to determine the number of import duties or other levies that need to be paid. Customs Authorities may find you are using the wrong HS Code when they check one of your shipments. When you are AEO Certified, the Customs Authority periodically audits your company. During these audits, they also check the quality of your product classifications.

The war in Ukraine has a devastating impact on the people still in Ukraine and those forced to flee the country. It is heart-warming to see private persons and companies launch initiatives to collect humanitarian goods, like canned food, diapers, soap, blankets, clothes, and batteries, to donate them to the people in need in Ukraine and refugee centers in the surrounding area countries. 

Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine impacts world trade and supply chains across the globe. What’s happening in Ukraine is a tragedy for civilians, and our thoughts are with all those affected by this situation. The impact on citizens in the region is enormous. That said, we want to report on the effects of the situation in Russia and Ukraine on supply chain and logistics operations in Europe.

Inward processing refers to importing goods into the EU, processing these, and hereafter exporting these out of the EU. One common inward processing example is when a product is imported for repair or maintenance and is later exported to be returned to its owner.

We foresee continued growth in the number of Authorised Economic Operators in the Netherlands, mainly due to the way that Dutch customs authorities need to focus on inspecting shipments that present the most risk.

Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status holders benefit from simplified customs procedures due to their trading practices being audited and proven compliant. This allows them to trade at a reduced risk of customs inspections.

Companies that want to sell imported products in the European Union as organic products need to make sure they have all the necessary documents in order. One of the most important documents, in this case, is the Certificate of Inspection.

Many companies are struggling with the new GVMS system that went live in the United Kingdom on 1 January 2022.
